Talk Worth its Time

By: Timothy Lucero
www.timothylucero.com

At a very young age my father taught me that there was a time for every kind of talk and then there was a time for action. When you open your mouth make sure it’s “investing” time and not just spending time.
My father, who was a Viet-Nam Veteran (THANKS DAD), would say “Time to talk is never when the bullets are flying!”
Jibber-jabber can always wait for down time or R&R. Correctly set priorities will establish the proper time for both work and play. The challenge that I’ve found in business is that these specific times are not designated. I have to create that balance myself.
Since the age of twelve when I went into my first business as a Martial Arts Instructor I had to establish very strict ground rules for my schedule. Still in school and working didn’t leave much time for anything else but by creating a priority calendar. I always knew when it was time for action.
This rule or code has carried me through times when temptation has had its warfare with labors of distractions. Thankfully this discipline kept me on the straight and narrow so that success has been achievable.
For well over a decade now in business, I have had many times, where people had the intentions of wasting my time, spending my time, using my time or just flat out inhabiting my time with ill intentions. This is typically the time when bad jokes are told, gossip is spread or people are put down.
Never have I heard proper use of ones time creating pain for any party involved.
My intentions, with this article, are to create an understanding. All of the conversations in or out of the work atmosphere can be constructive.
Constructive talk is necessary at all times but now in the down portion of our country and local economy it is essential. All jokes aside, lets get the strength back into America and in the towns we live.
Support is essential!

Ability of Youth

Grounded Youth
By: Timothy Lucero
Acceptance of talent is only a small portion of development but it is the first thing to maturity. Many people misunderstand the true improvement of wisdom, growth or maturity.
The world teaches us to conform while success teaches us to be creative.
I feel that within every strand of human DNA lies a courageous talent that waits to be unlocked. Countless individuals delay success for a proper time and lining up of the stars. This ideology has been formed by losers and unsuccessful people.
To endure adversity we have to face life’s struggles within our capabilities. A warrior never faces a battle with an expectation of winning without preparing for war and training with his best assets.
To succeed, within life’s battle, you have to first decide what your talents are and then hone them.
In my life I was never the chosen victor but I never failed to prepare. This gave me a land sliding advantage over the competition.
People ask me “What do you attribute most to peoples success?”
My answer never changes “Realizing your talents and having the will to see it through.”
Bill Gates was never the coolest but now he’s the richest, Thomas Edison was never the most educated but he allowed his mind to invent and allowed history to be made, and I was the very quiet but I found my voice.
The true sign of rebellion is being willing to step out of the cliché and get into your niche.
Every one remembers mass movement of change and independent choice of development but it had to start with personal acknowledgement.
It’s alright to be weird and out of the box but make the choice to have purpose with your independence. Choose to create beauty with your talent and success with your heart.

Lions, Tigers and Bankruptcies

Our local economy has degraded and this has initiated a frenzy filled panic. To overcome our current status, fear must be deleted from the book of choices and a new sense of courage must bellow within our spirits.

In this time of despair we have two choices:
1. We can decide to run and hide.
2. We can decide to have fearless and complete loyalty to our success.

If you feel that you are number 1 please stop reading now!

As for the strong and persistent number 2’s, it is time for the ultimate drive and initiative. No longer will time allow us to sit back and wait.

“Success is on the other side of fear!” quoted by fourteen year old millionaire Farrah Gray.

Creativity must be pushed into overdrive, effort on every side of business must be tireless and passion will be required to stand at full strength. These three characteristics are not up for negotiation!

Passion must flow out of every pore of your body. This will create a wave and depending on the size of your passion it can create a movement of business altering growth that you have not experienced yet.

The next key component is effort, which may be the most important independent success weapon in your arsenal. Providing personal effort to your business will give necessary improvement for prosperity. The ideology behind effort is that YOU are the most important functioning portion of your business. Product, business plan and location are all secondary issues when compared to the strength of your own personal effort. Many people begin to play the finger pointing game and never begin to spend the most important time (effort) on their growth. This can not be tolerated within a successful business.

Third and most critical within our economical downturn is creativity. Our back is against the wall and we must fight our way to financial gain! We will achieve the largest profit gain by getting out of the box. This key component is not only essential but it stands as the oxygen and life line of business.

These three tools if implemented into your business will blast you on an upward path of success within an economical downturn.

Remember YOU are the most important part of your success.

7 Fundamentals

React or Respond

React- This is an undesirable action and is caused by an outer source that is led with poorly developed talents. Typically in business, reactions do not develop into good harvest.
Respond- This is an action based on thought and tremendous training. Usually out of responding to a situation you will find a solution and success within.
In business, many times we tend to act out of “instinct” or a gut wrenching emotion. These reactions are typically not thought through and are reckless decisions based on actions of other people or situations.
The economy or independent businesses cannot survive within a gambling shot of business roulette. We were given a brain to manifest harvests with our trade.
Airplanes need a pilot for the decision making process that is needed for correct flying.
Businesses need management to be there to insure that there is smooth sailing.
Say it out loud “I am the pilot of my life and of my business. I am the only one that makes or breaks my future success. So I will make sure that I am well trained and educated in my field so that I can make the correct responses when it comes to my business, personal development and growth.” By saying these words you have agreed to educate, plan and work your business.
Being able to respond to employees, dissatisfied customers and economical struggles will give you enormous stability and capability to blow in the wind of strife through difficult times.
We gain these skills by acquiring wisdom by taking notice of others that have come before us. Then utilizing those lessons in today’s standards.
Many people ask how I can teach and speak on the subject of business and life.
“I understand that there is gray in great.” quote by Timothy.
King Solomon taught us that plans will fail for lack of counsel (Education) but with many advisors they succeed (Much Education).
My studies have led me to “Respond” and I wish you the same grace in your business development.

RESPONSIBILITY

This message is for those who don’t think you have what it takes to move forward in the position that your actions have put you in.
In 2006 Timothy Lucero became the proud father of Collin Scott Lucero. In this beautiful conception of life there is a duty that I have as a father and Vanessa has as mother of our blessing baby boy.
Everyone says how cute the situation must be, I’ll throw one more wrench in the situation that Her and I are no longer together.
Oh no! I am a statistic!
I’m a young man, with a huge future, a child, no wife and a ton of other responsibility. What am I going to do? RUN!?
After the laughing subsides, the answer is NO. I can’t run, I’m stuck with the outcome of the decisions that I have made and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the decision to take liability for my actions.
My position may be better or worse than some of the people reading this article but the same actions must be taken.
Responsibility!
Responsibility!
Responsibility!
Responsibility!
I would keep going but I don’t think the editor would appreciate my persistence.
In this world, I have found a bigger reason for living and I want to pass that enthusiasm on to the world. This passion is the understanding that something in this world means more to me than anyone or anything.
There is reason for living and there is reason for working just as there is a reason for not taking our life for granted.
I feel that it is by design that the things in my life have transpired and I accept them but choose to grow from them instead of being consumed by them.
So as a young man, with a huge future, a child, no wife and a ton of other responsibilities, I still have a huge future and I truly believe that you also have a huge future with the understanding of taking the responsibility that has been place on your life.

Strength Within

All of my life I have had a tug on my spirit almost as if something were missing. The tug on my life was extremely fierce and as I tried to remain strong nothing worked to silence the wrenching on my life. The voice and longing was frustrating, it was destructive and I felt as though I was not worth anything.
I began to feel there was something wrong with me and not knowing how to handle these feelings I continued to swallow it. Every day in school I wanted to make a better grade with the mindset that it would quiet my spirit but it didn’t help.
When I got older I constantly desired for peace in my heart, searching for money and popularity through the eyes of other. I jumped from business to business and dreamed of a success filled life.
The day came that I was divorced, broken and beaten. Fame had yet to be achieved and much less the void had yet to be filled.
I couldn’t figure it out. I had made so many of my dreams come true and nothing filled my spirit. I played college football, built a pretty solid business and had even accepted Christ into my life.
What was wrong with me, where was my spirit and glimmer. I had always been the fun and exciting person on the outside but I had the side that no one knew where I was broken on the inside. All I wanted in life was to feel complete and solid.

I was screaming inside “What is wrong with me?”

I began to analyze my life and I started to ask myself “What am I here for?” After reading many books I knew deep down that I was not suicidal and that I was not depressed but if I did not have these “Clinical” prescribed diagnostics then what did I have.
I felt fine physically, mentally and yikes, the one thing that was missing within the physical and mental test that were run. For some reason no psychologist or physical doctor dove into the spiritual realm with me?

At this point I didn’t know who or what to turn to?

I was spiritually indecent and didn’t know where I belonged. I was born into Catholicism and chose to pursue the Baptist Church followed by the Church of Christ and then ended up in the broad range of Non-Denominational. All of it didn’t make sense.
OK, I was christened as a baby, had First Communion, was an Altar Boy, confirmed in the Catholic Church then told that everything that I knew was wrong. At this time I agreed and admitted that I was a sinner, was saved and then baptized.
End of story, RIGHT?
Wrong, at this time my life, I was sent into a whirled wind and everything went really crazy. I call this my time in the ice age. Everything that I had was cold and undesirable. Frostbitten and ice burned, I had no where else to turn. Now my hellacious cry had turn into a roar. The strength within no longer let me live a sane life. Jerking me to suffocation, wrenching me to blood and running me to despair I was done and ready to throw in the towel. WOW, All the effort in the world and here I am quitting. White flag was waving as I cowered in failure.

This world attitude had the stench of death.

I was failing and failing bad and no one knew it. I was the spirited guy on the outside and was burning on the inside. Keeping the front I continued living my life to the fullest and showing everyone that I was on calm seas. I went to work, gym and church like everyone else did and one day it hit. The message that I had received prior to this day stated “If you accept Jesus into your life you’ll go to Heaven!”

Where was my joy?

I still believe that I’m going to heaven and that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior but I still have to get from today to the end of eternity. I felt bad on the inside and I knew that I didn’t have something correct. Then it hit me “I need spiritual breakdown.”
Until now I had this spirit inside of me that I protected with my human nature and to this day I don’t know if I needed human brokenness or a spiritual explosion but either way I received both. In my heart I now walk in the fullness of the Lord with peace and now the strength within is the strength in full.

Ephesians 4:7-8 “But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says “When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to his men”.”

The Heart of Gold

Running a business is never easy, especially with today’s competitive nature within the economy.
We have come to the ultimate “Cut Throat” phase of the pendulum swing. In business there is a natural competitive desire to win but have we taken “The Eye of the Tiger” a little too seriously?
In the motivational speaking realm we talk of the desire to succeed as an “at all cost” effort and that the mentality, must have total emphasis on strength and conquer.
We desire democracy to be strong in the American Government but we have truly forgotten the essence and the ideology “We the People”.

As our business goes so to will our country.

Helping your neighbor is a thing of the past, no longer is it a friendly “Hello may I borrow some sugar”. Today’s economic times have sent us into an animalistic dimension and as we swelter with frustration, not knowing what tomorrow has in store, we sit waiting for the next kill or more politely stated “the next sale.”
In President Kennedy’s inaugural address in 1961 he stated “The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life.”
We must choose the loving edge of the sword in effort to defend our nation and its stronghold, keeping dominion within the hands of democracy without conflict.
This effort is first and foremost in the hands of The Maker and is worked, developed and prospered by its working bodies “The American people”.
Long after it is taken off the dollar bill (if in fact it ever is) I will put my belief with the all enduring statement “In God We Trust”. This is how our country was established and I feel is the only way we will see to it that America is redeemed as the strongest country in the world.
The heart of gold pumps the moral blood into the life of success. Turn to your neighbor, hug him or her and lets get your business up and running on full cylinders.
As the people “It takes a village to raise a child but it takes a world to build a business!” We must no longer look to succeed with in the path of self righteous greed. In the fire of despair there stands honor with the one who is willing to break the mold of failure and rise in the development of a new kind of success.
Within recent weeks, we have changed the face of America but our heart is still bruised with an economical downturn and moral breakdown. To recreate our strengths and aid in a speedy recovery, our hearts must pulsate in generosity and a nature of nurture. It’s time we all grow with unwavering strength.

Working On It

In my Christian walk, I’ve been known to say “I’m working on it.” Now down in Texas where I’m from that means something ain’t done! Whether, its football or working in the oilfield, in Texas the mindset is, “don’t waste my time with the work, give me the “Gold.”
Lucky thing for us as Christians is that when we accept Jesus into our life as our Lord and Savior we’re “DONE”. Jesus took the hardship of sin, the hard work is done and God takes over.
What a reassuring feeling!
We are covered and placed into the Lambs Book of Life. What an amazing gift from God. We are now full fledged Christians and at that time we are given a strength as an acknowledged child of God.
God promises His children that he will not provide us with a task that we cannot handle. I am not an expert on the Bible but to me this means that we as Christians have the strength provided with in us through God to handle the task that we are given in life.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”

I feel through research and personal experiences that our physical, mental and spiritual beings are tied together. As a business man, writer and a bodybuilding veteran I relate all three of these realms as one.
The grace and strength that God has provided me in business has been insurmountable. I began to teach Martial Arts (Ryuku Kempo), at the age of twelve. Soon that was followed by entering the personal training arena. The challenge I faced then was that most of my clients and students were three to four times my senior in almost every case. I would laugh most of the times in efforts not to cry, for I felt that the “stress” was too much. I thought at times I couldn’t handle it and I might as well give up. No one would have blamed me at my young age. Sometimes I think “they” would have rather me walked away and have given up that absurd passion but I held my head high while walking through the fire. This obedience allowed me to be bless

Romans 3:4 “God forbid: yea, let God be found true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou might be justified in thy words, And his might prevail when thou come into judgment.”

These words in Romans as a Christian rang so pure in my heart and solidified my spirits. Instantly I believed with all my heart that through the word of God my feet would be directed and my vision would remain clear.
I once heard “You have to put UMPH with your TRY to achieve triumph” but I would like to propose a “Godly Triumph”.
2 Corinthians 2:14 “But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.”
Through obedience we are glorified and our life tells of the blessing that God has bestowed upon us. In Godly Triumph we soar to the skies of grace and to the depths of blessings.

What are we Going to do (Capitalize)

We’re young, energetic and we flat out know more than any generation has ever known in the history of time। We can tell you how to design a website, while doing our algebra homework, showing mom how to set up her email and helping dad with his new gizmo. Wow! We are with out a doubt the most developed generation but why don’t we get the RESPECT! GRRRR!
As of today we have produced the youngest billionaire to date, while moving forward with innovative, creative, and ingenious products. So what is the big DEAL?What we want out of our own generation.1. Have fun.2. Make an impression.3. Love life. This ideology has not fallen far from the tree. In fact in the same stream line manner that is how our parents shunned their parent’s.Rebellion, this is what led to the great housing development that we now see in America. It also led to largest job increase in history. No longer would “kids” have to listen to their parents. There is nothing better than the feelings of independence, but at what cost?In our country we have come to the crossroads. These two roads intersect where teamwork and independence run head long into one another. No longer is it “OK” to be selfish and self righteous. Our country now more than ever needs a conjoining effort for development. It is now that we as “children” have a voice. At the click of a button we combine forces. We now have the capability to step up and manifest this talent. We are not just in the information age, we are the information age. Through us, only by us, will the country soar to development.Without our contribution the hands of this community function at a much slower pace.Taking this country and turning it around is a snap for us.Let us take charge and develop the teamwork for a greater force. You have the capability at your finger tips. Let’s harness the passion and put something in the history books. http://www.timothylucero.com

Stake your Patriotic Business Flag

By: Timothy Lucero
My true joy has come from seeing the development of the great men and women that
surround me. I continue to learn from all of their talents, strengths and passion that they bring to the table.

One of the things that I feel distinguishes a person, who has created success, is the ability to “Stake their flag”. Creating an unrelenting strength and having a personal patriotic mentality!
When you start your business it just so happens that you have just developed your own country. How the two relate is your dream is your country, talents are the government, passion will be the defense system and we’ll call the people who don’t like you or don’t believe in you “The War on Terror”
Our forefathers created the strongest country based on a moral structure and a belief in solidified loyalty.
Today posters have created the word “Pride” more as a generality, cliché or as an assumption. I feel the true meaning of pride is to take a stand with heart and honor.
“Run your business with honor and loyalty!”
In the same way that a country develops you will create and manifest your ideas and dreams. You will utilize your strength and staff your weakness. There is no more room for egotism and must less is there an excuse for ignorance.
With wisdom you will make more educated decisions.
Overcoming EGO you will better be able to place your talented employees in there place of expertise.
Philanthropist, soldiers and political leaders have stood as heroes and have been honored for there strength and dedication. As they are revered so shall we be honored in business for the same over coming strides of success.
Where do you get this self-patriotic passion?
In any type of initiation, inauguration or proclamation a stance is taken and there are beliefs stated with full clarity. “The declaration of personal success” is the phrase that we will take in the business world and hold it close to the heart for our success.

Integrity should be the first word in anyone's life

In our effort to live a smooth, functional life, there are so many things to juggle. These times can lead to frustrating emotions that are hard to grasp. To introduce Grounded, I would like to go over the structure of the August Life Team.
- Integrity
- Discipline
- Courage
- Passion
- Wisdom
- Perseverance
- Simplicity
These pillars in life consistently make the highs in life sky rocket and the valleys not sink to endless depths.
My goal for "Grounded" is to establish a new foundation for personal structures, business groups and corporate teams. My personal goal is to create a buzz within the readers of this article. This will create an undeniable wave of excitement across the country into the seven seas with efforts to become a stronger world.
Along with its growth, "Grounded" will be instilling a belief and morale back into its readers for insurmountable success.
The question has risen whether the world is ready for this infusion of moral structured belief. For the past 40-odd years, people have burned their bras, grown their hair and shunned this path.
What is this guy thinking?
As I watch our country in shambles and see the worried stricken faces of our top leaders. I stand in the face of this furnace and wish to do something about it. Realizing we grow from the ground up, I will start there.
In short, for this week I will start with Integrity:

As we watched corporations grow by leaps and bounds, everyone was on the band
wagon for their own gain. Integrity was on the hush! If anyone noticed, it was the first statement when these companies came crashing down: "Those top execs lack integrity. They should be imprisoned."
In times of need we look for an answer lying outside of ourselves. It is time for an inward look into our personal grounding.
Until next week, love ya'll.
